And then there were 7

Thanks to everyone who voted for me in the 2009 Parents Pick Awards for Best Local Blog. I had fun reading all of you sweet comments......but it's not over.....I am in the final seven, and I still need your help. You can vote for me by clicking HERE, and my blog is the one titled "The Withers" The contest ends July 15th, and you can vote daily.

I don't think there is some awesome prize awarded to the winner...it is basically the recognition, but I want as many people as possible to read about Rett Syndrome. So please if you have a minute vote for me :)

Thank you!!!!

Quick update

Well Baseball season has begun, and if you have a child playing sports, you know how time consuming they can be. Monday through Saturday we either have practice or a game...but it is Oh' so worth it. I love being outdoor watching Rylee's cute little team :) Now you know why I haven't posted in awhile.

Here is a quick recap of what we've been up to.....

Baseball, Baseball, Baseball

Stud muffin' Rylee... Oh, and did I mention he is the team captain! :]

My poor little girl fell out of her wheelchair while on our walk....Talk about traumatic. We rushed her to the instacare but she was fine....just a little road rash, and a whole lot of tears.

These pictures don't do her injuries justice....it looked so much worse the day of.

This was our cute little nature walk....aren't the baby ducks adorable!

Can you see the baby Geese :)

Rylee & Zowie riding in the jeep @ Grandpa Batt's

Rob building a rock wall in the rain

Zowie swinging in the rain

Zowie sleeping (on the couch)

Our family loves going to the lake and camping, so I bought this cute little umbrella chair to take along for Zowie....and since she needs some trunk support, I also bought a harness thing to strap in the chair....well I guess I still think of Zowie as my little baby girl, because she is way too big for the whole get up :[ And here I am thinking "I am so cleaver"......any suggestions mom's ?

She's so tall the darn thing wont buckle

Just a tad too long!!!

Zowie despises getting her hair done, but such a cute picture, I had to post :)

Marlee, Cory & Brody came for a visit, and we got to have a sleepover with Marlee. She is completely obsessed with our dog and followed her the entire time. Cory & Steph, this girl needs a dog!!!

Zowie sleeping some more.....

Making necklaces with the cousins

Easter @ my mom's house

Little Simon

The hunt

Little Zowie

Zowie, Katelynn, & Harlie

Notice there are no pictures of Rylee on Easter...He and Rob were Turkey hunting : / But don't worry.... I don't think Rob will ever go hunting on a holiday again :] (If he knows whats good for him!)

BUMMER!!!

As you may know, Clint Black was voted off last night, and his team lost..... so as Project Manager, he didn't win the $20,000. for Rett Syndrome.....Such a bummer! We were so upset, but at least he won us some money last week :) My poor little sensitive Rylee took it so hard.......although Celebrity Apprentice is on way past his bedtime we allow him to watch this show with us to cheer on Clint. Well...when his team lost I saw the tears start forming in Rylee's eyes....and as soon as Clint was voted off, all sh*! hit the fan!!

After storming into his room, slamming the door....this was the conversation we had:

Me: Rylee, what is wrong

Rylee: Sob...Sob...NOTHING!

Me: You don't want to talk about it?

Rylee: No Go AWAY!

Me: It's ok to be upset....just tell me whats wrong

Rylee: Sob...Now we won't be able to find a cure for Rett Syndrome...Sob

Me: Of course we will Rylee, Clint won so much money for Zowie, and there are so many wonderful people out in the world raising awareness, and putting together fundraisers...One day there will be a cure, you just wait.

Rylee: Well I don't like that Joan Rivers lady

And that was that.

That kid loves his sister so much...and he wants to find a cure just as much as we do. He will occasionally tell me how he is going to take care of her when she is older because "after all she is going to be the aunt to my kids" :), man I love that kid!
